Our SVPS School's First Annual Day is the culmination of the School's Academic year . We had Ms.Janaki Sabesh , a Master Storyteller, Author and Actor as our Chief Guest . It's a time for celebration and recognition of the students' participation in events such as Welcome dance, Kids Yoga, Japanese Forum ,School Choir followed by special drums performance and Dance performance . Christmas is a celebration, a time for giving and not simply a day we exchange gifts. The spirit of Christmas is in the 'togetherness', its a selfless time ,where we spend to think about others, where we forgive, where we take stock of what's important and become a 'better' versions of ourselves. Eco Friendly Diwali was celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm , pomp and fun at our School . In order to protect the Eco system , Green Diwali is promoted nowadays right from the young ones . Our School children in SVPS are taking a pledge to celebrate the festival of Diwali in an eco-friendly manner. With the rising levels of pollution, children are doing away with fire crackers and bursting of balloons to celebrate eco friendly Diwali. Aksharaabhyasam or Vidyaarambham is a Traditional religious function in which the child is given Initiation of Education so that, the child is ready to receive the Formal Education. This Ritual is very common in India , where the family member keep the child on his lap holding the child's right hand forefinger and make the child write the Panchaakshari Mantra " OM" followed by Alphabets . Our 75th Independence day is a day of pride and joy to every citizen of our country. Here comes our children of SVPS , celebrating the day by connecting it through virtually.
Pongal, the harvest festival celebrated in Tamilnadu, is basically considered as “Thanks Giving” festival in helping the farmers to get better yielding crops. The four days festival is a sign of Prosperity , Good health, Good wishes and the fulfillment of desires. Sona Valliappa Public School proudly celebrated this Pongal on 11th January 2021 with a lot of activities like games, kollattam, dance and relished the sweetness of Pongal which made everyone happy. Christmas is the festival which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. Soaking in the spirit of Christmas tiny tots of Sona Valliappa Public School celebrated the festival with enthusiasm on December 24th 2020. The School was beautifully decorated and everyone were dressed in red and white. The students sang melodious carols and danced beautifully to wish everyone. The significance of the festival was explained to the students through the Christmas carols. Santa arrived and distributed gifts and chocolates. A Festival commemorated to mark the joy, victory and harmony. Also it is known as the “festival of lights”. Diwali is celebrated to declare the victory of Good over evil. Our children of Sona Valliappa Public School enjoyed this festival on 13th November 2020 by celebrating it in a pollution free environment by bursting the balloon crackers in a Eco Friendly way. Everything starts with the seed. “Akshara bhyasam” was performed on 26th October 2020, the auspicious day of Vijayadasami aimed to give the initial practice of formal education with the blessings of Lord Ganesha and Mata Saraswathi to the children of Sona Valliappa Public School.
